Based in Orange County, California, Toma Tiare Inc. is a company built on integrity, trust, and innovation. Our commitment is to assist Polynesian dancers to “Toma” their way into mastering the art and technique of Polynesian dance movements with precision, strength and endurance.

 

It is our passion to cultivate the spirit of Aloha in order to preserve the art and culture of Polynesian dance. We believe the use of our TomaBelt during training will enhance a dancer’s stamina, energy and confidence in preparation for competition or shows.

 

Founded by professional Polynesian dancers and seasoned drummers, the TomaBelt concept began with the realization that  weight belts were a value to Polynesian dancers looking to perfect technique. Unfortunately, weight belts were rare, difficult to find, or it was not durable. Typically, a weight belt - made out of fabric, rice or sand - could be purchased at local Polynesian Fairs from vendors selling a variety of accessories.

 

The love for Polynesian dance inspired us to combine years of sales and marketing experience, and product development research to innovatively create the TomaBelt for our Polynesian dance community. The difference is in our specialize triad formula method and the accessible convenience of shopping through our online store.

 

Toma Tiare is named after the word “Toma” which a drummer uses to cue a start or an end of a rapid rhythm of drum beats. “Toma” represents strength, confidence and impressionable speed. 

 

“Tiare” stands for the sweet Tahitian flower known for its simple beauty and captivating fragrance – a staple in the Polynesian community.
